The Perfect Match Co. began with a simple observation: we light candles to mark moments, yet the match that starts it all gets forgotten.
Founded in our Brooklyn workshop in 2025, we craft matchboxes that honor the ritual of striking a match. Each box is letterpress printed, numbered by hand, and made in small batches that follow the seasons.
Our work draws from harvest traditions—those moments when ordinary objects become tokens of gratitude. Like the corn dollies woven at season's end, our matches are made to be kept. Every matchbox begins with French paper stock, chosen by touch. We print on a vintage letterpress, mixing custom inks to achieve the perfect tone.
We believe in making everyday objects that don't feel everyday. In the satisfaction of a proper strike. In keeping the box long after the last match is gone.
